Assistant Director - Veritas
Summary:
Veritas is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Director to oversee the operational and administrative success of the ensemble. This role is critical in ensuring smooth and efficient operations for all performances, rehearsals, and events. The Assistant Director will work directly alongside the Executive Director and instructional staff to support all educational, operational, and member experience-related aspects of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with rehearsal planning, scheduling, and logistics
Coordinate rehearsal setup, teardown, and facility management
Assist with inventory management, equipment transport, and prop logistics
Help oversee member documentation, waivers, and IPA/WGI compliance requirements
Serve as a consistent point of contact for members, parents, and staff
Assist with show-day operations and performance logistics
Assist with staff coordination and rehearsal communication
Work alongside the Director of Operations to coordinate transportation logistics, including truck pickup and driver scheduling as needed for rehearsal weekends and performances
Qualifications and Skills:
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with excellent attention to detail
Experience in WGI, DCI, marching band, or indoor percussion environments
Experience working with students and educational ensembles
Leadership experience within performing arts organizations preferred
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a team
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Google platforms (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms), and scheduling software is a plus
Ability to attend some rehearsals and most performances
