317 Performing Arts, Inc. is committed to cultivating the growth of our students within the visual and musical performing arts, and our community both locally and nationally. We achieve this by adhering to our trusted values of Education, Community, Inclusivity, Tenacity, and Creativity.

Education:

317 Performing Arts places a strong emphasis on education as a core value. We believe that artistic training goes hand-in-hand with personal and academic growth, and we prioritize the education of young adults by providing a structured, supportive learning environment. Through a combination of professional instruction, mentorship, and hands-on experience, students gain not only technical performance skills but also discipline and confidence. 317 Performing Arts fosters a culture of lifelong learning by giving essential/ fundamental courses. Financial literacy, resume building, and car maintenance are provided to all staff and students. Resources like budget-friendly cookbooks job training, and free mental health accessible information are available as well. 

Community:

We recognize that our program thrives through connection, service, and shared experiences. We prioritize building a strong community among young adults by cultivating teamwork and a spirit of giving back. Through partnerships and public performances, members are encouraged to use their talents to make a positive impact beyond the stage. 317 Performing Arts proudly collaborates with events such as the Mental Health America Hoosier Idol, local parades, and the Down Syndrome Indiana Fundraiser—offering students meaningful opportunities to support important causes and engage with diverse audiences. These experiences not only strengthen their sense of community but also teach young adults the importance of empathy, leadership, and unity through the arts.

317 Performing Arts strive to create an environment where all members feel welcomed, respected, and valued for their unique perspectives and talents. Through intentional open collaboration and connections, 317 Performing Arts ensures that inclusivity is reflected both on and off the stage.

Tenacity:

317 Performing Arts defines tenacity as the quality of being determined, persistent, and resilient in the face of challenges. We express this value by cultivating a culture where young adults are encouraged to push beyond their limits, embrace hard work, and remain dedicated to their goals both individually and as a team. Through rigorous rehearsals, high-performance standards, and a supportive environment, members learn the importance of perseverance and continuous improvement. 317 Performing Arts teaches that success in the performing arts—and in life—comes not from gold medals, but from the courage to keep going, learn from setbacks, and strive for excellence with unwavering determination.

Creativity:

Creativity is empowering young adults to explore new perspectives, take artistic risks, and develop their own unique voices through performance. The program encourages innovation in music, movement, and design, allowing members to contribute ideas and collaborate in shaping each production. 317 Performing Arts helps students discover the power of creative expression—not just as performers, but as thinkers and problem-solvers who bring imagination to everything they do.
