Derrick Shannon
Chief Executive Officer

Derrick Shannon is a percussion specialist originally from the Chicago-land area. He holds the position of Director of Percussive Arts at Plainfield Community Schools who were the 2018 WGI PSA Champions in his first year with the program. He started Percussive Soundscapes which is a company that offers a variety of services to the marching arts community including custom arrangements for band and winter percussion ensembles. Percussive Soundscapes is also home to the PS Music Academy which offers group and private lessons to the community in Indiana. He also taught at Ball State University, judges during the weekends, and consults with numerous groups across the country.

Derrick marched seven summers of drum corps with groups such as the Phantom Regiment and Cavaliers, both in the battery and front ensemble. Afterward, he became the Percussion Caption Head for the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps and later the Percussion Coordinator and Battery Arranger for the Madison Scouts. He is currently the Percussion Coordinator and Battery Arranger for the Blue Knights. Derrick is also a Creative Director and Battery Arranger for 317 Performing Arts which supports the independent world group Veritas. He received his Bachelors in Music Education at the VanderCook College of Music and his Master’s in Music Technology at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. Derrick proudly endorses Innovative Percussion, Pearl/Adams, Remo, Prologix, Zildjian, and Etymotic. He currently resides in Plainfield, Indiana with his wife Kayla and two daughters Miyah and Olivia.

Anne Kane
Director of Operations

Anne is from Dayton, Ohio, where her percussion career began at Kettering Fairmont High School. During her four years of indoor drumline and marching band, she played vibraphone and marimba. After graduating in 2015, she performed with a series of groups including Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps, Mandarins Drum and Bugle Corps, Tates Creek Indoor Ensemble, and Legacy Indoor Percussion. Anne ended her marching career with Legacy World in 2018.

Anne is currently pursuing a degree in Biblical Studies at Moody Bible Institute. She currently resides in Dayton Ohio, and works full time as a coffee professional at Ghostlight Coffee.

Tony McCrackin
Marketing Coordinator

Tony McCrackin is a photographer based out of Indianapolis, specializing in portraiture and the performing arts.

Tony was on the 317 Performing Arts media team as the photographer for the 2020 season, and was previously on the media team for the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps in their 2018 and 2019 seasons, as well as through winter 2020. He has also taken photos for Performing Arts Photography by Bateman, FloMarching, Blue Devils Performing Arts, and others.

In addition to his experience as a photographer, Tony is also active within music and the marching arts. He currently teaches visual and winds at Franklin Community High School, and taught at multiple high schools when in school in Michigan. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Music from Central Michigan University, where he performed in top instrumental and vocal ensembles. He was also in the tuba section of both the 2015 Cavaliers and 2017 Boston Crusaders.

Jeremy Otoo
Social Media Coordinator

Jeremy Otoo, originally from Colorado Springs Colorado, spent his high school years in South Brunswick New Jersey before moving to Indiana to attend college at Purdue University. His marching career includes four years on the Purdue Drumline, two seasons at Legacy Indoor Percussion, and one season at the Colts in 2017 before aging out at Veritas in 2019. Jeremy has recently taught at Decatur Central High School, Ben Davis High School, the Colt Cadets, Madison Scouts, and Veritas.

While his marching experience was primarily on bass drum, Jeremy is also experienced in graphic design and audio/sound design for the performing arts. In 2016 Jeremy designed the soundscape and sound system for the Purdue “All-American” Marching Band Halloween halftime show, and spent 2019 on tour with the Madison Scouts as their sound engineer. 

Jeremy is currently the sound engineer for the Avon High School Marching Black and Gold in Indianapolis IN, and lives in the Indianapolis area pursuing a career in audio production.
