WHat should I bring to auditions?

We recommend that everyone dress in athletic clothing with closed-toe athletic shoes. Everyone should bring their packet, water bottle, sticks/mallets/drum pads for battery members and auxiliary auditionees, media & medical release forms (found in your audition packet upon registration), and a positive attitude!

We also recommend that battery members bring kneepads for visual block. If you have your own cymbals or drum, we encourage you to bring it with you! This will increase your amount of playing time during the audition process, since we will be able to have more people on instruments at one time.

Can I do a video audition?

Occasionally, we will allow performers who live far away to submit a video audition. This is done on a case by case basis. If you are interested in auditioning but cannot make the audition in-person, reach out to admin@317performingarts.org to request information on this option.

How much are fees for the season?

Member fees for the 2024 season are $1750. This helps us cover facilities, uniforms, equipment, stage and set design, and instructional/design staff costs for the season. During the weekends, members will have to make their own arrangements for housing, transportation, and food. Meals may be provided on show weekends.

What is the typical rehearsal schedule?

Veritas rehearses Friday evening to Sunday afternoon from November until mid-April, including a camp between Christmas and New Years. Members will be expected to attend all rehearsals throughout the season, including WGI World championships in April. The week of WGI World Championships will also include rehearsals and events for most of the week leading up to WGI Finals, beginning on Monday evening.

are there fundraising opportunities?

Yes! 317 Performing Arts holds a number of fundraisers during the season to help Veritas members offset costs for their member fees and weekend-to-weekend expenses. Information on fundraisers will be supplied to members at auditions.

Can I audition if I live far from Indy?

Yes! We encourage everyone to audition for the ensemble! If you are out of state—or even out of the United States—we encourage you to reach out about auditioning. We have hosted members from Illinois, Missouri, Ohio, Kentucky, Florida, Kansas, California, New York, and even Japan! You would be expected to move within driving distance to Indy during the season to attend rehearsals and performances. Reach out to admin@317performingarts.org for further information on your audition.
